Today I would like to write about French cuisine, which is considered by many connoisseurs as one of the best and most sophisticated in the world. It doesn’t surprise me at all because everybody will find here something delicious :)
Traditional cheeses, fine wine list and champagne, delicious sweets and pastries (in French: pâtisseries), such as the famous croissants and pains raisins (sweet bread with raisins) will please the most demanding gourmets. It is impossible not to mention the goose liver pate (in French: foie gras), gastropods (in French: escargots) and of course frogs legs (in French: cuisses de grenouilles). Everything I have mentioned above are dishes of which France is famous around the world.
France is not a homogenous country in terms of culinary tastes. In each region you can find regional specialties, which is famous for the city or county. For example, in Burgundy, where we live, you can taste delicious wines (particularly noteworthy are the red wines, Pinot Noir). The vineyards, houses, land estates, farms and castles here are an essential element of the landscape, and culture. Travelling in Burgundy it is necessary to make a trip through a „vine path”, which stretches for about 150 km (from Dijon till Macconais).
In addition, specialty of Burgundy restaurants is the Burgudny beef (French boeuf bourguignon), which I haven’t tried yet (I’m not a big „fan” of beef). However, my fiance assures me that it is worth to try;)
Below are some pictures of French delicacies, which personally I really like :)
